This session will cover employers’ obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), including an in-depth review of when ADA is legally triggered, compliance requirements regarding the interactive process, communications with medical providers, medical paperwork that is allowed versus disallowed, and a review of the legal mandated accommodation process. Special challenges such as assessing undue hardship, proposing alternative accommodations, and obligations regarding non-FMLA leaves, remote work, and transfer to another position will also be addressed. Attendees will be provided a materials and a step-by-step guide to aid in their compliance with this complex law.
